About the Role:
A forward-thinking Value-Added Reseller (VAR) based in South Yorkshire is seeking an Account Manager (AM) to join their growing team. This hybrid role combines sales, business development, and account management, offering a dynamic opportunity to make a real impact. As an AM, you will collaborate closely with the internal team to deliver exceptional service to clients, while also identifying opportunities for growth and new business. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will work to understand client needs, recommend tailored managed services solutions, and foster long-term relationships that drive satisfaction and continued success.
Key Responsibilities:
– Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the local market.
– Build and sustain a strong sales pipeline through networking, referrals, and proactive outreach.
– Collaborate with technical teams to define, scope, and price tailored managed service solutions.
– Partner with the marketing team to support and drive lead generation and new business initiatives.
– Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of managed service clients.
– Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
– Lead regular account reviews (including Quarterly Business Reviews) to ensure client satisfaction and uncover opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
– Monitor service delivery performance and collaborate with internal teams to address and resolve issues efficiently.
– Gain a deep understanding of each client’s business objectives to align managed services with their overall IT strategy.
– Offer strategic insights on emerging technologies and industry trends that are relevant to the client’s environment.
– Serve as a key liaison between clients and internal technical teams to ensure smooth and successful service delivery.
Experience & Requirements:
– Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT sales or a related field, with a strong track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
– Solid understanding of IT solutions, including software, hardware, cloud services, IT infrastructure, and managed services.
– Proven ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies, with strong negotiation and closing skills.
– Experience using CRM software to track sales activities, manage client interactions, and maintain accurate pipeline data.
– A proactive mindset focused on identifying and closing new business opportunities.
