About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Lead .Net Developer at a prominent company based in South Yorkshire. Reporting directly to the Software Engineering Manager, you will collaborate closely with a skilled team of both onshore and offshore developers. We’re seeking a motivated individual to join our technology team, working on a range of projects – from troubleshooting legacy systems to developing new greenfield initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, improving, and maintaining core APIs, mobile apps, and web applications. These projects cover a variety of areas including routing and vehicle tracking, customer and booking management, and advanced AI technologies that support our data-driven business strategy. You will engage in the full software development lifecycle, from planning and design to coding, testing, maintenance, and support, ensuring all solutions meet high-quality standards. This position offers the chance to work with cutting-edge technologies across diverse projects and is ideal for a driven, ambitious developer passionate about problem-solving and working with a talented team.
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop and maintain existing ecommerce platforms
– Enhance and improve back-office applications
– Work on cross-device mobile apps using Flutter
– Migrate and update legacy web applications to modern frameworks like .Net Core and React.js/Next.js
Essential Skills:
– Experience working in Agile environments
– Proficient with Azure DevOps for pipeline and release management in CI/CD workflows
– Strong knowledge of .NET Core, C#, and ORM tools like Entity Framework or Dapper
– Hands-on experience with React.js and Next.js
– Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL
– Ability to coordinate with team members to achieve project goals
– Provide user support and guidance as needed
– Collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor colleagues
Preferred (but not required):
– Experience with containerization tools such as Docker
– Knowledge of microservices architecture
– Flutter mobile development experience
– Exposure to legacy web technologies including React.js/Next.js, VBScript/ASP, Angular, and Vue.js
– Familiarity with AI technologies like Azure AI, Elastic Search, OpenAI (ChatGPT, CoPilot)
– Understanding of good UI/UX design principles
Experience Required:
– Minimum of 5 years in software development or a related role, preferably with .Net technologies
